Dr. Marc L. Melcher, MD, PhD

Dr. Melcher serves is a Professor of Surgery at the Stanford University Medical Center. After receiving his BA in biochemistry from Harvard University, he completed his medical doctorate at Columbia University and a Ph.D. in molecular biology at UC Berkeley. He was formerly the president of the San Francisco Surgical Society. Now, at Stanford, he does research and clinical trials on organ transplantation and is interested in implementing AI algorithms in making decisions in transplantation surgery. He practices at Stanford Hospital and Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital.
